We accept residents that have chronic ventilator needs, tracheostomy, and non-invasive ventilators for both short term and long-term placement. Our unit consist of spacious private rooms, utilizing the latest in ventilator technology. At Rest Haven we believe in promoting the best quality of life and care possible. Resthaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, LLC is located on over ten acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in a quiet residential area of Lake Charles just off West McNeese Street. My mother was admitted to Resthaven in June 2020. Two days after admission to the quarantine floor her personal cell phone went missing and was never recovered.
Residential aged care
My mum, aged 91, has been at Resthaven for a couple of years now. The staff went out of their way to make mum feel welcome and cared for on her arrival, which helped her settle down so much quicker than expected. The views from Resthaven are also breath-taking, looking out over the Stroud valley. I’m thrilled that I found this wonderful home for my dear old mum in her hour of need.
The nurses, CNA'S and staff are warm and eager to help. I see everyone smiling and tjey really seem to caee about the resident's needs. Therapy options are available to help seniors regain their health, activity level, and the potential for independence after an illness or injury, so they can safely stay at home.

Our supervisors and administrators expect more than mere technical compliance with governmental rules and regulations. They lead a team sensitive to the social and emotional needs of the residents. Consequently, our employees know more than their job—they know the importance of a kind word, a gentle touch, and the healing power of a smile. They have a place of worship where they have different ones come in, no matter what your faith is. They have areas outside for walking and gathering and meeting. However, one of the staff members who was the point person that we need to talk to all of a sudden was not available because of some situation at home and hasn't been for more than a week.

They seemed to be helping us get things moving. They have both private and semi-private rooms, and all of them are nice. Actually, the semi-privates are almost like privates.
Mum has just completed a respite stay at Resthaven - we referred to it as her holiday and it certainly proved to be so, as well as some needed downtime for us. The communal eating and activities certainly sparked flashes of the old mum, who always enjoyed getting involved with her local community. The stimulation of other people around prompted more interaction and engagement than we've seen for over a year. Equally, she could stay in her room for some quiet time if she preferred, so very flexible around the resident's needs.

Rest Haven Homes, founded in 1941, is a senior-care community to over 100 residents. Our residents reside in independent apartments or our licensed Home for Aged on six-acres nestled in a residential neighborhood in northeast Grand Rapids. We were impressed with the facilities , the personnel and the staff.

We provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for those at risk, those that wander or other conditions that require specialized care. Respite care is designed to meet short-term care needs up to 30 days of care. We customize a specialized physical, occupational, or speech therapies program to meet your rehab needs with our own therapist with Therapy Solutions.
Our full time activity coordinator leads a team who offer different activities every day. Family and friends are always welcome to share in our activities programme alongside their loved ones. For those residents who stay in their bedroom either by choice or due to ill health we work to find things they enjoy on a one to one basis. The staff was very friendly, caring, and all the residents looked very happy. This nursing home has a lot of amenities including its own movie theatre, very large chapel, a sports lounge with actual sports memorabilia, and several other lounging areas. Instead of residents in a semi-private room divided by a curtain as I've always seen, the rooms are divided by their own bathroom and shower which makes the room feel like a private room.
Through Atrio’s Help at Home program, seniors can receive at-home support for as few as two hours or as much as 24/7 care. Atrio Home Care registered caregivers are qualified to administer to a wide range of medical needs, while treating each individual with dignity and respect. The P.A.R.K. program is designed to provide people with Parkinson’s Disease exercises and information to optimize their potential of function. The patients there have no phones in their rooms, so speaking to her was difficult. They have an employee who sets up face time appointments and this is the only way I was ever able to speak to my mother. The nursing staff has no clue when you call for an update. However, my mother caught cover-19 from their staff who brought this horrible virus to the facility by not following basic PPE guidelines.
